 Introducing ‘Sequel’, a luxury hat collection featuring upcycled archival designer towels from iconic houses such as Gucci, YSL and Bottega Veneta, supported by a curation of luxurious vintage towels in sought after Mid-Century modern designs. Each piece an exclusive piece of art, history and fashion in one.

 Each towel used to create a Re/lax Remade luxury hat is extra special - whether from its heritage, quality, texture or design. These are premium towels, the ones your mum saved for best. Luscious velours, opulent jacquards, tactile geometrics: they are all visual and tactile delights. 

 Sequel features a vast range of towel designs, including bold geometrics, psychedelic swirls, ornate florals, and freestyle illustrations. When the founder of Re/lax Remade, Karina Barker, builds a collection, she looks for the tension between the towels, to create a cohesive story from contrasting ideas. “I am always trying to find a different way to say the same thing: that by looking at things differently, challenging traditional ideas, we can create an energy and a beauty that is greater than the sum of its parts.”

 It is Barker’s hope that the unexpected transformation of preloved domestic textiles can help reframe what we see around us, “So much of value exists already; we don’t need new things, just new ideas.”

 Each piece in the collection is one of a kind, challenging our ideas about waste by reviving vintage towels into elevated versions of the initial inspiration: Barker’s childhood memories of her dad’s 70s terry towelling hat.
