One-of-a-kind bucket hat handmade with love and skilled hands in Sydney. As part of our Rescues line, this hat has been made from less than perfect vintage towels, with a different patina than our Classic hats, more faded and worn-in, offering an extra layer of history and the sense that it might have been inherited from your dad. And you know that’s our style North Star…
The vintage materials used will show signs of their past life: this is not considered a fault, rather colour in their story. As each hat is one-of-a-kind, we have given each one a number. There will never be another SCOUT #43.
The Scout features a circular top and a mid-sized brim.
Size: MEDIUM 55-58cm
Top 100% cotton, lining 100% linen.
Please measure your head before purchasing to avoid disappointment. We suggest measuring at an angle from your forehead to the largest part of the back of your head. Please note that as each towel is unique - some thicker, some thinner, some denser, some fluffier - the exact measurements will differ slightly, and each hat will fit and feel unique. In general, the patchwork hats will fit slightly firmer than the single towel hats, because of the extra seams.

So much more than just a hat

I love my Rescue Hat… I love the fact it’s unique, I love the fact it’s beautiful, I love the fact it’s made from not quite perfect vintage fabric and has still been made to have a new lifetime of love ahead of it. But… what I love most about it is the fact that someone has acquired a new skill in the making of this hat. Someone has practiced and achieved something magical in turning this beautiful, well worn and imperfect piece of someone else’s history into something absolutely perfect, something worthy of pride and pleasure and it’s now someone else’s piece of history. Whenever I wear it I will always be reminded that some person I have never met put this creation down in a workspace after many hours of effort and concentration and had created something super super special for me to love. Thankyou for all the work that went into it. I promise it’s appreciated and will be admired for years to come.
